I met a lady at the Park who was quite interested in stain glass. She ended up ordering from me. She wanted to make something for her sister. She brought over a tiny old frame. Little did she know that there were 4 photos inside that frame. We were able to make her sister a pendant and one for herself. Isn't her Mother beautiful. Her Mother always said "Love you",

so we made a little quote charm to match.

"PROVO, Utah (April 1, 2011) – BYU football head coach Bronco Mendenhall and his wife, Holly, will host the inaugural Cowboy Ball on Saturday, May 21 at 6 p.m. MT. The Fully Invested Foundation, a non-profit organization created by the Mendenhalls in 2010, sponsors the event. The Cowboy Ball will feature dinner, dancing and a silent and live auction, with proceeds going to benefit the Thursday’s Heroes Program.
Auction items include, a 2009 Harley-Davidson Fat Boy, Bronco and Holly’s personal paddle boards and a week-long stay at a Montana dude ranch. Guests will have the opportunity to bid on one-on-one dinners with various BYU football assistant coaches and their wives. A variety of BYU football memorabilia will also be up for auction.
Guests will hear live music from the band Mister Pickens while enjoying the cowboy-themed atmosphere provided at Stephen’s Foxtrotters Family Farm in Wallsburg, Utah. A mechanical bull and cowboy poetry will also serve as entertainment.
Tickets for the event are $100 per person, available for purchase at www.broncomendenhall.com. Ticket sales will close on Friday, May 13.
The Fully Invested Foundation aims to provide inspiration, resources and hope to children and families facing significant life challenges.
As part of that initiative, the Foundation supports the Thursday’s Heroes Program. Every week during the college football season, as well as spring practices, an individual or family with special needs is identified and invited to attend a BYU team practice. As you know, my husband is an intern-coaching at BYU for the football program. I was inspired by Coach Mendenhall to contribute back to the team. I have made these "Y" for the Thursday Hero evenings. They will be able to hang them in the window to remind them of the event. I am donating one each week. I am so blessed to be here, a part of BYU, to have knowledge of Jesus Christ, and to have my wonderful family. Below is a movie about Thursdays Hero's.

I am excited to do our second review for CSN. The first review I highlighted the spin chairs. I love, love them. We have a lot of fun spinning the kids in them, and they spin their toys in them.

I can't tell you how much my youngest loves muffins. I went to the doctor Wednesday and was informed that she is just not big enough. He said I needed to feed her 5 meals a day. I do anyways (if you count a snack as a meal)..long story short-that girl won't eat easily. I try the calorie loaded pedisure, mac and cheese... nothing works but pure sugar. She does like muffins. It has been hard for me to make them lately (I lost my own muffin pan somehow). I have been borrowing the kind neighbors almost daily, I almost adopted her muffin tin. I reconsidered when I browsed on CSN. Perfect. I can finally get my own muffin tins.

Sheets, what is this? Well, I was looking at KSL and found a lazyboy twin couch. I finally have a place for a guest to sleep. It is perfect. A twin. I don't have sheets for the new addition. Yes, CSN has sheets too. Great thread count, beautiful colors, quality!

I had a blast looking at the 3 websites!

I can't stop thinking about some great finds with the websites sites such as, Luxe by CSN; All Modern; and Cookware.

Luxe by CSN has some hot shoes. These are my fav. Shoes make such a statement with your outfit- you can dress up or dress down. Hot! Free shipping and free returns, can't beat that!

All Modern is my ultimate favorite. I love seeing my kids faces smile. When they say more...more...(and it is ok-not like it's candy)...ok. Get ready for this one, wait for it...

Yes, it is a spinning chair! The name of this contraption is Bilibo Play Shell. It comes in many colors. I can't wait to spin them in this! I am getting it for sure! They have thousands of items that have free shipping. Another feature on this website is "see it for less". They will match prices to ensure that you have a great deal. They also have drop leaf tables that are quite beautiful!
Cookware is full of the gadgets that you have not added to your collection. They have bar stools, All-clad (I use every day), and creme brulee fire torch. I love to cook.

Every year for Christmas we make creme brulee and hold your mouth shut if your on a diet cuz it is Amazing! Here is the recipe:...
Creme Brulee

Ingredients
8 cups heavy cream (2 gallon)
2 vanilla beans (cut & scraped)
2 eggs
12 egg yolks
1 2/3 cup sugar

Scald cream with vanilla bean. Wisk eggs, yolks, sugar. Slowly add cream to egg mixture while
whisking. Pour through strainer. Pour into ramekins, bake in waterbath for about 45 minutes at
200 degrees. Let set in fridge for 12 hours. Sprinkle with fine sugar & broil.

Bunko is a great game made for gabby women with dice in hand. I have played a few times...my brain got weird when I was trying to be so fast to roll the dice and have get the lucky roll of the right number. (Really, no skill is involved which can be a good or bad thing). I have helped several people with gifts for bunko. I have done stars, zipper pulls, and these special made "bunko girl" pendants. All packaged perfectly for each player so everyone can feel like a winner at Bunko. These are $12 for the first pendant, $9 for any pendants after that (this size only, flat glass both sides).

Last night my work was complete.
So, have kids? Have grand kids? Babysit? Anyways, Children are lovely, but it is best if kept busy while in public. I have noticed when attention is focused elsewhere my sweet-adorable kids (who would never-wait) get into mischief.

I've never had a pair of earrings like this or any other type of jewelry for that matter and have only ever had glass decorations for my windows, yard and everything but myself. The earrings are very colorful and have sort of a tie-dyed rainbow pattern/effect to them. You know what they actually remind me of. Have you ever parked your car over a puddle with an oil leek of some sort or one that someone else has parked over and leaked in ? It leaves like a blurry rainbow color in it with blue, green yellow and purpley colors. that's what it looks like.

Really, it is hard to take 3 kids with you to do errands-do men know that?
I was dreading my next stop. Last time Rex and Brighton were chasing each other screaming, going out of my site, and being NAUGHTY.
My youngest had fallen asleep. So I had to be extra strong and careful not to wake her up. I had 2 more errands to run. We arrived at the post office being sure to park on the same side as the buildings so I didn't have to be worried the kids would die in the parking lot.
I got to the door, some nice guy opened the door for me and told me I had my hands full. I said "Ya, want to rent my children?"
So, we got in the line that led to the back door. Kids were actually being ok.  Time passed, I got to the middle of the line.
BOOM I look over, my face turned red.  In my brain I thought ahh, are you kidding me! But, collectively I didn't talk, breathed...
I had my little girl pretend like she was mommy, watching the baby and keeping my place in line. Me and 'Trouble Maker' headed over to a large card display. I had noticed this display at another post office. It had a bunch of nice photos of dogs taken in a weird way. I thought, well if I liked pets, maybe...but after this I said FORGET this display. We started to place all the fallen out cards back. People kept saying, "You don't have to do that, someone else will get it."
I thought ya, but my kid won't learn his over-rated lesson. So we started to stand it up. It took me a while to get it to stand straight.
Done. Got back in line. Went to the front. Flustered. We sent all the mail.
Good News: Baby stayed asleep.
Bad News: One of the envelopes was in my mailbox today.  The lady helping us was clearly not paying attention where it said "FROM". Now we will see what happens tomorrow when I take the package back.
Oh well, what a story right.

So, I was soldering/multi-tasking today. In the midst of making these...I started a real big FIRE! I had a depressing day in my mind. I only had 1 hour to work so I got started. I had let lipton soup boil over, and of course didn't clean it. I started the water to boil and WAMMO it flamed up.

Inspired by Colored Glass!

I have seriously had an image in my brain of creating these bracelets and I have been so busy doing just normal life that I had not put it together. It feels so good to touch it with my hands now.
This Colored Glass Bracelet was inspired by all the glass sitting in boxes. I felt selfish being the only one to enjoy such pieces of raw art.

I have been thinking of doing a project with colored glass for some time, but the brain juices have been Strong for the last 3 days!

I have found such beauty in each piece of glass that I use for my window jewelry (stain glass suncatchers-click "portfolio" to see more). Each piece of glass goes through such a process to become the destinied hue and texture. I can finally wear it not only on my neck, but on my moving bones!

What beautiful photos these turned out to be. My friend had a focus lense and we were able to shoot these before the sun went down.

I decided to ask my husband to teach me some french words. I took French in high school, but I have forgotten so much. It is a late night but I just had to take pictures of these great ideas for special orders. There are many who order them for special occasions. One client ordered 3 pendants of the sexy lady with newsprint in the background. I was impressed that it was her mom. She made 3 so she could give the other two to her sisters. Vegas was a blast! My sister and I decorated a Christmas tree for the Annual Festival of Trees. All proceeds go to the Down Syndrome Organization. Funny story-I was on the plane and sat by some guy Tracy who by the end of the flight handed me $300 cash for a donation! People are so generous. Our tree theme was Kitchen. We wanted to help people remember to eat together (how it impacts the family and keeps the family strong). Several people donated, even Kitchen Kneads. We had a blast! The Farmer's Market is held at the Pioneer Park in Logan, Ut. There are many different vendors who do sell crafts, but the big thing is also the fresh produce. So fun to walk around and enjoy the live music as well.

Bracelet for me!

Sometimes I get something in my head and have to get it done right away so I can move on. I had this happen with the bracelet. I am excited to get it made for others too.
I am not a procrastinator, some say that is good--my husband thinks differently. My dad is the same way--busy body. He is worse than me at not being able to stand still, or sit down with out doing something. We were driving to SLC for our Anniversary all alone, without kids (great). I found my self having the hardest time driving without the radio on, without the phone on, without talking, and without kids . . . Jason was reading his books (daily goal) so we could be together. He said, that is just killing you isn't it. I appreciate time to relax, when I have everything done, taking a hot bath is my favorite. My mind was going a million miles an hour, He can read right through me. We had a great time for our Anniversary. I can't believe how good life can be, and it is crazy how a little thing can throw it off--firm foundations are so crucial. It is 6 good years.

It was my boys B-day and boy does he like trains. I had to show my creation . . .So much fun. Rex really liked the cake--but the presents trumped! I went to give him some cake and ice cream--trading it for the toys and he didn't want it--he opted for the toys. Anyways--I wish I had that much self control!

Wedding Cakes

I was crazy to volunteer to make a wedding cake. I did my wedding cake, my friends, and now my sister n' laws. I told her it would not be perfect. I like to bake a lot, but a suggestion from a stressed out cake maker wanna-be/ DON'T only give yourself 1 hour prior to the event!!
I had the cakes made but did not have the fondant put on. The bottom was fake, the middle and top were the same, Vanilla Cake made from scratch, a layer of bright blue butter cream frosting, a layer of Chocolate Cake made from scratch with black dye in it. On the way to the wedding, I damaged the cakes, a box fell on top, so I had to repair them.
I thought for sure that I would be able to have time in the afternoon-nope. Because of pictures I was rockin' out in the closet asking people to hold the table still so I could roll out the fondant. We placed ribbon to hide all the wrinkles, and diamonds to keep the eye off the damaged parts (really didn't look too bad after I put more frosting on them).
Over-all I had lots of fun, and liked the experience. People were there when I was bringing out the cake (at the reception). Take advice, don't wait so late!

Lovin' tea

I love tea! My favorite tea is Raspberry Celestial Seasonings. I like lots of sugar free packets, and a real raspberry leaf on top. In the cold winter months, it seems the nights are so cold without a warm cup of tea. All I need now is to have a tea party! I have gone to High Tea at the Grand America in SLC, so fun--very girly. Keep your pinkie up!

My mom has some old vintage cards just like this, I really want to star collecting some too. I also want to start making some cookies. Here is a to die for recipe for Chocolate Sugar Cookies. You will love them.

Chocolate Sugar Cookies
cream: 1 3/4 cup butter
2 cup brown sugar
Add eggs and mix well: 2 eggs
Add: 2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp water
Barely combine: 4 1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup cocoa

Form ball, wrap in plastic, refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll out, cut and Bake at 350 12 minutes.

“When I See a Star, I Dream”

Glitzy Glass, decorated and donated for the Down Syndrome Organization, Annual Festival Tree of Lights . .

A night of Glitz and Glamour, we had waited for since July, and it was everything we hoped for. The overwhelming feeling I had was of gratitude for the generosity people have. People donated so much money to benefit the Down Syndrome Foundation. The money is used for therapy of all kinds to help the children develop skills. There were so many people who put so many hours into the prep work. We put in several hours for the tree, but our work was fun. When the Benefit began we were all able to view the 30 some trees. The trees were beautiful! Some of the themes of the other trees were;

“Diva” which included paraphernalia of Marylyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Madonna . .

“Games” included lots of family games, even a ping pong table

“Pink Tree” this tree had purses as ornaments, and ____

“Pampered Chef Tree” of course everything you could think of cooking wise

“Wine Tree” lots of wine stuff

“Cooking Tree” Pots pans and trinkets

“Spa Tree” tons of gift certificates for spa services (ooohh uhhh)

The guy who was auctioning had helped do many fundraisers, even for Bill Clinton . . . Very funny. They warned us as the time got closer to the end, 15 minutes, 10, 5 and no more bidding.

The couples bidding on our tree were so so excited that they were able to get it. They told us more than 5 times how happy they were! There was a couple who arrived late and was so upset that they didn’t get our tree. It was fun to hear them talk about that (I relished). I was also able to donate a gift basket with five pendants, and a few chains, snowflake, star, it was fun.

FOOD TIME! We all went into the next room with the beautiful Chandeliers, tables all set beautifully and the food was AMAZING. They had a chicken and beef all dolled up, and potatoes that were amazing. The potatoes were sliced really think, compacted and cut into a triangle, then broiled. I want to make them for Thanksgiving!

For my favorite part of the meal the servers all lined up and brought out our desert. SO good!

After dinner the live auction started. There were three trees being auctioned, and boy was it for the elite. One of those trees had several paintings, a hand-carved rocking horse, hand-carved chair, air flight tickets to anywhere, really cool tree! The auctioneer even let 2 of the boys who had Down Syndrome auction off a book for a few hundred dollars each.

My sister Julia, her husband, and her little girl Brooklyn spoke before desert. She was emotional, it was great! My mom and sister can’t speak without crying. I on the other-hand don’t cry!

To sum it up—it was so wonderful. We enjoyed everything, every moment. And, Julia (so nice) let me take home the ribbon—so kind!

Just a Peek

So, I have been in Las Vegas getting ready for the Event. The Festival Tree of Lights for the Down Syndrome Organization is in 23 Days. We went all around town getting everything for it. I am touched by all the wonderful people who contribute. This is not our finished product. . .we were trying to find out how many stars to use. We are getting the tree ready to ship (they saran wrap it and box it up)to the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. The invitations are awesome, if anyone wants an invitation, just ask me. Some examples of therapy are spirit horse (where they ride horses--they say it is one of the best things for the children), speech therapy, music therapy, and more. My niece Brooklyn is so so cute, she goes to school and loves it. The thing I love most about Brooklyn is how she laughs at nothing, she laughs a lot, so so cute.

I went to a financial event with my husband at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City. We accidentally tried to sign up to go to a technology event, thinking that it was ours, we were messing around for 20 minutes. After all that, I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and even more than that, the speaker. Steven Spilberg filmed Catch Me If You Can, about Frank Abagnale Jr. Frank came to tell us his version (the movie was glorified). He told several stories, he spoke quickly and gave little jokes so we had to pay attention.
Frank started with the story of how it all started for his life of fraud. He was in school and his teacher pulled him out, he found him self in a courtroom and had no idea why. His mother was on one side, and his father on another. The judge told him to choose which parent he wanted to live with, and he ran out of the room and never saw his father again.
My favorite moments of the speech was how he spoke about what changed him. He ended up getting caught in France (I think) and spent jail time there, then in a different country, then spent jail time in our country. His father ended up dying, he slipped and fell down a flight of stairs (very physically fit, bad accident) in the subway. After he got out, he met a girl. He said that jail didn't change him, but his wife. His wife (still married to) helped him to be who he was. He said to treat your wife like she is everything.
Frank loved his father. His father never missed a night of kissing him goodnight. Frank has 3 boys (high credentials) who he loves. Frank said that no one can replace parents. I was surprised to hear that from him, it's rare, you don't hear people who actually get that concept.
So, he was very fun to meet, and we had a blast at the event. We actually met Frank Abagnale!

Snowflakes!

These snowflakes are a killer. The rainbows are fab! We stopped into Paisley and Pomegranate today, and will be sending them a bunch of snowflakes and blue birds. I am so excited to decorate my Christmas tree with these!

Tree Topper and Purse

My mind set is continuously changing and I am going to make a difference.
I attended Touchpoint an for entrepreneurial women in SLC, UT. Heather Madder was the key note speaker who has really touched me. I feel so inspired and driven to make a difference now, today . . .I believe my business can lead me to inspiring others while being an at home mom (I work when they nap). I have met so many people in the last month who will change my course forever. I am a part of American Mothers (a nondenominational group of mothers who get together to talk about being good moms)where I met Deborah Gardner. I am going to team up with "One Heart Bulgaria" to help orphans. Glitzy Glass is committed to donating 3% profit to helping this organization. So, every purchase you make will contribute to helping Orphans in a real way. Every person has something to offer, not an average something, but something wonderful inside of them. Truthfully we need to be mentally healthy to be able to connect, then, influence the lives of others. Getting rid of all the stigmas that society has put on us can help us break free. I will go to Bulgaria (somehow) and help these children.
Working with the Festival Tree of Lights in Las Vegas for the Down Syndrome has shown me the generosity of others who want to make a difference too. I never cry and for some reason I do when I talk about "One Heart Bulgaria". I feel compelled to find a way to help out, teach my children about what matters and to be continuously closer to God. I have always been involved in giving service. When I was in High School I received the Prudential Spirit of Community Award, yet I have not felt like I have taken the chance to give- to the next level. Wow, you will be hearing more soon!

What's with the Tree?

We are progressing with our donations for the Festival Tree Of Lights. Icon Health and Fitness has donated a tread mill (track star)(yeah!). Glitzy Glass Stars will be featured on the Christmas Tree. Needham Jewelers in Logan, UT has donated a diamond pendant. Prince Gallery in Logan has donated a large textured painting of Van Gough "Stary Night". Just Be has donated a "Stary Night" purse (so excited to see). We are in the process of obtaining a telescope, and a hand made quilt. Any ideas, please comment. . .

As you know, I love garage sales! My mom and I love to wake up at 6:30am and go searching. . . We decided to have a "Give Back" garage sale (all the stuff we got at a garage sale ha ha ha). We donated the proceeds to the Down Syndrome, Festival of Lights. We had pictures of our cute grand kids and had a blast bartering with everyone. I am surprised how much stuff was really valuable- left over at the end. We tried to give great deals so we could get rid of the stuff. The cars were lined up all down the street, so fun.

Peaches N' Cream

The night before the garage sale my mom and I did peaches together, so many. . .I love the fact that I have that time to can with my mom. They look great don't they! My little girl had so much fun being the "pitter getter". She stood right next to me for over an hour helping me out. For those out there that still bottle their own peaches--we've got something in common (sorry to say it is much better bottled vs. the grocery store).

20th Annual Festival of Trees and Lights

My sister Julia has the cutest girl-Brooklyn. Brooklyn is where this all started for us. Julia and I are co-designers for the Festival of Lights 08'.

Glitzy Glass Stars will be featured to decorate a tree with our stars at the Festival of Lights in Las Vegas. The highest bid of 07' was $9000. We haven't decided what our theme is yet, any suggestions?

There will be several gifts under the tree hopefully with the donations of others we can get a TreadMill (track star), Telescope, The top of the World (Stratosphere in Vegas), Ipod, Iphone, Flatscreen TV (with Starwars) . . . Any donations, ideas, or imputs will be GREATLY appreciated.
